We all vary greatly in our social needs and expectations, so relationships are hard work by default! It is common for people to seek help with family, friend, and intimate relationships. The assistance we provide may include individual, couple, or family based sessions with a counsellor or psychologist. For children and teenagers with limited social connections, we may recommend they join the 1Up! Gaming Group or enrol in our next Hero Training program.

Counsellors
Can provide general advice and support to find and sustain healthy relationships with friends or partners. They can help you build confidence with other people by creating a setting where you can practice relationship skills, such as active listening and assertiveness.

Psychologists
A psychologist is able to use advanced training and unique tools to help you explore your relationships with others. This may include personality and mental health evaluation, and attachment questionnaires. They may use formal assertiveness training, or a combination of psychotherapy techniques to work towards improved outcomes.
Family and Systemic Psychotherapy aims to assist family member’s express difficult thoughts and emotions safely, to understand each other’s experiences and views, appreciate each other’s needs, build on strengths and make useful changes in their relationships and their lives.
