School Programs

Brave HQ offers a number of school programs in order to support the mental health of students, staff and the general school community.
Psychologists in Schools Initiative

“I would like to provide mental health services from an external psychologist one or more days per week.”

At Brave HQ, we know that parents can face significant difficulties getting children to appointments during the day. We also have experienced the benefits of having ready access to classrooms and teachers that we don’t normally get from our office.

In partnering with your school, we hope to promote help-seeking of staff and students, and reduce stigma around mental health support. With the provision of a suitable room from the school, we can provide bulk billed Medicare services. Further services are provided at the parent’s cost. All psychologists are registered with AHPRA, have working with children checks and are fully insured.

Curious Adventures

“I would like to run a science event or unique adventure at my school.”

Brave HQ’s Curious Adventures program is a dynamic range of experimental and discovery based learning experiences designed to boost curiosity in subjects that suffer from being labelled as “boring” by children.

Jeremy Kindler is a Senior Tutor at Brave HQ and the Victorian Gifted Children’s coordinator at MENSA. He runs several special events over the year at Brave HQ Edithvale, and is available to discuss your school’s needs.

Contact Jeremy to find out when the next event is scheduled.

The Vault

“I’d like my teachers and staff to attend fun, solution focused professional development.”

Brave HQ focuses on providing psychologically grounded, practical support for teachers to enrich teaching strategies, self-development skills and vital knowledge about mental health in the classroom.

Examples of topics offered include implementing positive behaviour support into daily practice, managing trauma in the classroom, and supporting students with learning difficulties. We are happy to discuss your school’s particular needs, and create something unique if needed. Each vault series is linked to the Australian professional standards for teachers to guide teacher’s toward proficiency. The Vault can be run at your school or in our lounge and study spaces in Edithvale.

Hero Training

“I’d like our students to increase their ability to cope with common social difficulties by developing practical skills.”

Brave HQ’s Hero Training uses naturalistic observation, explicit teaching, and roleplay to help children learn the knowledge, skills and confidence to manage common social and emotional difficulties.

Contact Holly to discuss how Hero Training could benefit your school.
